Lucerne Australia’s vision is to lead and enhance a sustainable Australian lucerne seed industry. It does this by being a focal point of the industry; by researching and communicating issues that affect the industry’s needs and priorities.

2024/2025 Membership

• 50 farm business members representing ~60% of Australia’s lucerne seed production (or 2,800 tonnes of certified clean seed)
• 38 Associate members representing Australia’s major seed production, grain marketing, grain processors and allied organisations.

Key membership activities

Lucerne Australia delivers the following key activities for its grower and associate members:

• Research and demonstration sites – a variety and product trial is planted at the Main Trial Site (Riddoch Highway, Keith, South Australia) and satellite sites answering specific member questions.
• Trials Review Breakfast – held annually in July highlighting the results of Lucerne Australia research.
• Main Field Day – held annually in February/March to view the trial results before harvest

Additional activities are organised on an as-needed basis.
